Heart

Capital Cardiology treats people with heart-related illnesses in Frankfort and surrounding communities with an emphasis on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of heart disease.

Procedures
  • Nuclear Stress Test
This test helps evaluate your heart’s health. It uses a radioactive tracer and Nuclear Medicine Camera to take pictures of the heart (1) while you are at rest and (2) when you are exercising. These pictures can reveal any deficiency in blood supply to the heart muscle.
  • Echocardiography
We take an ultrasound of the heart to detect abnormalities and determine overall functionality of the heart.
  • Stress Test
The patient walks on a treadmill while being monitored to determine fitness and / or any coronary problems.
  • Carotid Doppler
This is a diagnostic ultrasound of the carotid arteries in the neck to detect any blockage.
  • Holter Monitor / Event Monitoring
We monitor heart activity for 24 hours to 30 days, depending on patient symptoms.
  • ICG / ABI Testing
This test measures blood flow in extremities and aids in the diagnosis of peripheral vascular disease.
